ORLANDO, FL, December 31, 2009 – “Stuff a bag – help a child!” was the motto for the Amway One by One Campaign for Children volunteer opportunity during the annual Achievers recognition trip. Over a three-day period, Amway Global Independent Business Owners (IBOs) took a time-out from meetings, events, and training to stuff 2,500 bags that will be given to children who may not get a gift this holiday season.

“Achievers events are always action-packed with celebrations and trainings to help our IBOs build better businesses,” said Jesse Hertstein, Senior Corporate Citizenship Specialist at Amway Global. “This year, we also wanted to demonstrate the caring culture of our IBOs by providing an outlet for their generosity during the holidays. And what better partner than Boys & Girls Clubs.”

Amway Global partners with a number of different organizations to improve the well-being of children and offer them the resources they need to live, achieve, learn, and of course, play. One of those organizations is Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida where children aged six to ten received bags stuffed with school supplies, each with a personalized hand-written holiday greeting from an IBO.

“The success of the Stuff a Bag—Help a Child project and the hard work of all of its volunteers are heartwarming reminders of how much the local community cares about our Club members. We are thankful to Amway Global and to each person who took part and supported the project from beginning to end. Because of your time and help, 2,500 Club members will be better equipped to enter the classroom with the basic  tools necessary to meet their everyday academic tasks,” stated Gary Cain, President of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida.
