Amway Exceeds $500,000 for Haiti ReliefFebruary 04, 2010 05:50 AM
Just a few weeks after posting the Haiti relief appeal on Amway’s Website, http://www.amway.com our relief efforts have brought in more than $575,000 in cash donations and combined gifts from the company, IBOs (Independent Business Owners), employees, customers and global affiliates.
In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake, Amway has been an active local and international partner through its donation of 10,000 personal hygiene kits, divided equally between World Vision and International Aid. We’ve collaborated with local organizations to assemble some 1,000 units of safe water storage containers with water filtration systems, and are shipping them to Haiti over the next few weeks.
Our dispatch of corporate jets has carried medical personnel and aid workers along with other supplies to assist in the relief effort. And our planes have brought back children to be united with adoptive families and to give them a new start in life.
Our work is not done. The people of Haiti are suffering and they will continue to suffer for some time to come. As the situation stabilizes, we will continue to be there to help them rebuild their country through our One by One Campaign for Children. http://www.amwayonebyone.com
